Son-in-law to former governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha, and the 2019 Action Alliance AA Governorship candidate, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, have dragged a media practitioner, and a knight of the Anglican church, Mr. Collins Ughalaa to court over allegedly libelous articles Ughalaa wrote against the person of Uche Nwosu on his Facebook page.
Nwosu was was recently arrested inside the church over alleged ties to the criminals causing unrest in the state, also slammed a compensation of ₦350million from Ughalaa.
The former Chief Press Secretary to former governor, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, have in recent times, been a thorn in the side of the Senator representing Orlu zone, and his family members, calling Nwosu a “suspected criminal”, a title that has attracted the court action against him.
In the suit by his lawyers, C.A.N. Osondu and Associates, Nwosu presented parts of the article written by Ughalaa, whereby he claimed Ughalaa had accused him of being a person of questionable character, with an unbridled desire for crime.
Along with the compensation of ₦350million, Nwosu demanded for apology published on 3 National and 3 Local newspapers, as well as on his (Ughalaa’s) Facebook page.
Ughalaa is yet to confirm receipt of the suit which was published on Facebook, neither has he made any formal reaction to it.
